E-mail reminders:

  • Keep e-mails short - no longer than one screen - and infrequent.

  • Use a conversational, personalized style.

  • Read over what you're going to send as if you were the recipient.

  • Only send information that is interesting.

  • Use a descriptive subject.

  • Don't just send conclusions. Explain your thinking.

  • When in doubt, use the phone instead.

  • Don't forward junk. People will start to assume that all your e-mails are junk.
